13 Mar 2022

With the days getting longer, Summer around the corner and holidays now back on, now is the perfect time to update your sunglasses and get something new for the year. Choosing the right pair of sunglasses, that offer 100% protection from UV is important, however that doesn’t mean you have to compromise on the style.

Here are just a few of the top sunglasses trends for the year ahead.

Bright Lenses

Colourful lenses have become really popular over the last few years, refreshing styles from the 1990’s. Brands like Oliver Peoples, Moscot and Maui Jim are pro’s when it comes to colourful lens options in their stylish sunnies.

Rimless Glasses

Rimless glasses have made a big comeback with a number of popular brands with Porsche Design, Oakley, Balenciaga and Prada featuring rimless or semi-rimless sunglasses in their newest collections. Rimless glasses are often lightweight due to the lack of frame; however, they can make just as much of a statement as fully framed glasses with the different shaped lenses, lens colour and statement sides.

Cat Eye

Cat eye glasses and sunglasses will forever be a popular style due to their flattering shape. Newer cat eye style frames are more over the top and exaggerated and larger. The favourite well known fashion brands such as Prada, Balenciaga, Gucci and KOMONO have nailed the exaggerated cat eye look for this season.

Statement Styles

Statement glasses are a great way to add style to the simplest of outfits. Keep your look simple and let your sunglasses do the talking. Different people like to make statements in different ways, you can do this with pops of colour, with a bold, oversized frame or a completely unique shape. Gucci, Dior, Ahlem and Chloe and some of our favourite brands for oversized, statement pieces.
